Happenings in 2nd grade

We studied a unit on families.  We made a family tree, read books about grandparents in our reading series and had a grandparent day celebration.  It was a great success. Check out the pictures.

Book It

October starts the Pizza Hut Book It program.  Your student will be having assignments that have to do with reading.  They are required to do in 2nd grade.  It will be part of their reading score.

TESTING

The week of September 27, 2008, second grade will start the Standford Testing.  We will do a practice test and do a little bit of the real test on Monday.  Each of the other days we will be testing mainly in the morning.

Remember to let your child: 1. Get a good nights rest. 2.  Eat a good breakfast. 3. Bring in a healthy snack. 4.  Bring in no. 2 pencils.
